CiviCRM Profile County Not Auto-Populating - Resolved

I use CiviCRM in several projects I have worked on for non-profit organizations. It provides a robust backend for membership management as well as event registrations and makes accepting payment (especially with Paypal's Website Payments Pro) very easy.

I ran into an issue recently where the county dropdown in a member profile page wasn't auto-populating when a visitor selected their state. Come to find out, it is a known issue that, while not fixed in code, has an easy workaround that should resolve the several reports of the problem I'm seeing in the CiviCRM forums including at issue.
